Ryan graduated from the UNIVERSITY OF CINCINNATI - CCM with a Master of Music in Vocal Performance in May 2020 having studied with William McGraw. During this time, he was seen as Giove in La Calisto, Kecal in The Bartered Bride, and the Second Armored Guard/First Priest in Die Zauberflöte (performances cancelled due to Covid-19). Other operatic highlights include Belcore (L’elisir d’amore) with THE CHAUTAUQUA INSTITUTION, as well as Baron Mirko Zeta (The Merry Widow), Simone (Gianni Schicchi) and Seneca (Poppea) with DEPAUL OPERA THEATER.
A strong proponent of new music, Ryan collaborated with the CINCINNATI OPERA/CCM OPERA FUSION: NEW WORKS to workshop Matt Aucoin’s Eurydice (co-commissioned by the Metropolitan Opera and Los Angeles Opera). Ryan has been seen performing selections of Bernstein and Mahler with the CCM PHILHARMONIC, as well as the bass soloist in Vaughan Williams’ Serenade to Music with the DEPAUL UNIVERSITY SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA. He has received recognition from Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, the Kurt Weill Foundation, Classical Singer National Voice Competition, the Grand Junction Symphony Orchestra Young Artist Competition, and the DePaul University Sid Kleinman Competition.
Ryan is currently pursuing his Artist Diploma at the UNIVERSITY OF CINCINNATI - CCM and studying with soprano, Amy Johnson.
