Reed Gnepper is a “dynamic, new” tenor hailing from the riverbanks of Cincinnati, Ohio. From a young age, Reed has performed with many large ensembles and prominent artists such as the Cincinnati Pops, Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Cincinnati Opera, Bill Medley and Kenny Rogers. After a newly found love of Opera as a teenager, Reed went on to receive a bachelor’s degree from the renowned Juilliard School in Manhattan, New York City. There, Reed made his debut as Puck in Benjamin Britten’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream, covered Endimione in the New York Premier of Luigi Rossi’s L’Orfeo and sang the role of L’amante in Menotti’s Amelia al Ballo. His ensemble work at Juilliard consisted of being in the choruses of La Bohème, Die Lustigen Weiber von Windsor, and performing in two of the New York Festival of Song’s “At Juilliard '' performances coached by industry legend Steven Blier. Being an avid lover of cross-over genres, Reed has also performed the role of Archibald Craven in the Chautauqua Institue’s production of the musical Secret Garden. After his graduation, Reed performed with the Cincinnati Opera in the choruses of Lucia di Lammermoor and Il Barbiere di Siviglia this summer. Currently, Reed is pursuing a master’s degree in vocal performance at The College-Conservatory of Music at The University of Cincinnati where he studies with Grammy Award winning baritone, Elliot Madore. When not on the stage, Reed can be found listening to his vinyl record collection, writing new music, or eating Skyline Chilli.
