Australian-born, Cincinnati-based mezzo soprano Grace Kiver is a sensitive performer equally at home on both the choral and operatic stages. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Penn State University and a Master’s degree in Vocal Performance from the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, where she studied under teacher Karen Lykes, coaches Kathleen Kelly and Marie-France Lefebvre, and directors Robin Guarino and Greg Eldridge. In addition to solo, choral, and operatic performances at the collegiate level, Grace has also been professionally contracted by Cincinnati Opera, Queen City Opera, Collegium Cincinnati, and Coro Volante. Grace was a Voces8 US Scholar in the 2019-20, 2020-21, and 2021-22 seasons, studying and performing with members of Voces8 for three weeks in Texas and Minnesota. Recent operatic roles include Handel’s Partenope (Armindo), Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte (Third Lady), Mozart’s La Clemenza di Tito (Annio), Cavalli’s La Calisto (Diana), and Mozart’s Così fan Tutte (Dorabella). She has also appeared in concert as the alto soloist in J.S. Bach’s Magnificat, Charpentier’s Masse de Minuit, Ralph Vaughan Williams’ Serenade to Music, John Adams’ Grand Pianola Music, Vivaldi's
Gloria, and in a rare semi-staged performance of Hildegard von Bingen’s Ordo Virtutum. In addition to singing, Grace enjoys studying early music and lutesong, playing clarinet and guitar, and conducting.
