In this Year of Mercy, what does mercy look like during an election season? Civilize It is a non-partisan response developed in the Archdiocese and designed to guide Catholics on how they can be civil and engaged during this election year while responding to Jesus’ call to love our neighbor. The presentation will look at how that Church forms its conscience through Scripture and Church teaching as articulated in the U.S. bishops’ statement, Forming Consciences for Faithful Citizenship. It will strengthen Catholics to call for more civility and clarity in electoral politics and from each other. The Catholic Social Action and Family and Respect Life Offices will be offering Civilize It: Faithful Citizenship in the Year of Mercy presentations throughout the Archdiocese in September and October. These presentations will be held in Cincinnati on Tuesday, September 22 at 7:00 p.m., Thursday, September 29 at 7:00 p.m., and Wednesday October 12 at 7:00 p.m. For more information, please visit
